Durante el día 23 de Junio se desarrolló en la localidad de Trelew el “II Encuentro de Cuencas Hidrográficas. Cuenca baja del río Chubut”.

El mismo se llevó a cabo en la sede de la Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco y contó con una participación muy concurrida de la población del Valle Inferior del río Chubut (VIRCH) y de las ciudades de Puerto Madryn y Puerto Pirámides. Además del importante número de personas concurrentes, se destacó la diversidad de instituciones, funciones y puntos de vista de los participantes respecto a la problemática del agua y de la cuenca.

El trabajo se desarrolló en dos momentos: por la mañana en mesas temáticas que consideraron las relaciones del agua con la salud, con la producción y con la urbanización. Los participantes en cada mesa identificaron los problemas principales y sus respectivas causas para cada uno de estos temas.

En un segundo momento, en grupos de trabajo integrados por personas que viven en el VIRCH y en Puerto Madryn y Puerto Pirámide, tenían la responsabilidad de trabajar las posibles soluciones a los problemas identificados.

Los objetivos buscados fueron ampliamente logrados. Se identificaron los problemas más importantes y sus respectivas causas y seconformaron dos grupos de trabajo para la continuidad en la búsqueda de las soluciones a cada uno de ellos. Uno de ellos integrado por las personas radicadas en el VIRCH y el otro, integrado por las personas habitantes de las localidades Madryn- Pirámide.

Estos grupos quedaron con la responsabilidad de planificar e impulsar las acciones orientadas a la solución de los principales problemas identificados en el encuentro. Si bien los problemas priorizados son comunes a toda la parte baja de cuenca del rio Chubut, se manifiestan de manera particular según las características de cada una de laslocalidades identificadas. Los grupos mencionados ya están trabajando.Tuvieron su primer encuentro el día 29 del corriente mes y tienen previsto un encuentro plenario del Foro del Agua el día 6 de julio en Trelew.
